Expelled in 1944 from their ancestral lands, Crimean Turks started a struggle against the Soviet regime in order to regain
their dignity and return to Crimea years later. The book titled The Women of the War for Crimea 1960-1990 discusses
the processes of women's involvement in the movement, their duties and responsibilities, the consequences of the
oppression and persecution they witnessed by the Soviet ruling cadres, their participation in the negotiations in the
international arena and their efforts to rebuild their lives after returning to Crimea.
