Türkiye has a long historical past as well as economic, social, geographical and institutional resources. Despite having
these important resources, the country has not been able to reach the position of a developed country. Why is the
country unable to achieve sustainable development? In order to find answers to such questions, the economic growth
dynamics of the country on the basis of provinces have been analysed. In order to achieve this, three approaches
accepted in the literature have been taken into consideration. These approaches are production function, geography
and institutional approach. This study firstly analyses the sources of economic growth from past to present and the
differences in economic performance among countries. Then, the economic growth dynamics of provinces are
analysed in the context of production, geography and institutional approach. It is expected that this book will be useful for
researchers, policy makers and people who are curious about the development dynamics of the Turkish Economy.
