This study, which deals with the writing of the National Anthem, ist history, its poet and the spiritual climate of its poet, was
published and brought together with the reader based on the "National Anthem and Mehmet Akif Ersoy Science Feast in its
100´th year" held in 2021 of the centenary of the adoption of the National Anthem. The year 2021 was declared as the year
of the National Anthem by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye on the occasion of the centenary of the adoption of the
anthem. In this context, many scientific activites were held throughout the country. Furthermore organising a science festival
at our university, it was tried to increase the level of knowledge and awareness of new generations and young minds about the
National Struggle and the National Anthem, and finally this valuable work was produced. There are thirteen chapters in the
book. The chapters include information about the process of the emergence of the lyrics of the National Anthem, the
personality of the poet, the world of thought and spirit. The reader was also given the opportunity to be informed about the
composition of the anthem and its composers. The book also tried to shed light on the analysis of Mehmet Akif´s poems in
context of sehl al´mumteni and the humorous aspects of his poems and prose, the poet´s view of the east and the west, his
personality as an educator, the comparison of the anthem with some anthems in the in the west, the poet´s musicality and his
death and his last days.
