This book is the result of a series of studies initiated in context of the need for studies that deal with the history of Turkish
diplomacy not only event-centred but also person-centred. Beginning from the Ottoman Empire to the present, the
development of Turkish foreign policy and diplomacy has been significantly influenced by sultans, heads of state, foreign
ministers, ambassadors and their various tendencies and connections. However, to date, there have been no academic
studies on the developments in the history of Turkish diplomacy with a person-centred and holistic approach. This
book, which includes the writings of 12 academics from different disciplines and experts in their fields, is the first of a
series of three books, with two books to be published in the near future. Through these three books, it is aimed to
contribute to the literature on the history of Turkish diplomacy and to advance research in this field.
