In the meeting of the coordination meetings, which have been organised since 1997 in order to bring together academics
working the field of religious education in our country, organised by Dicle University Faculty of Theology, Department of
Religious Education in 2015, the idea of organising a congress in order to get the highest academic efficiency from the
coordination meetings emerged. The Religious Education Congress, the first of which was held in Darica under the
leadership of the Istanbul University in 2017 and the second of which was held in Antalya under the leadership of the Recep
Tayyip Erdogan University in 2018, has performed an important role in creating a communication platform between
researchers working on different subjects in the department of Religious Education in our country and bringing together
postgraduate researchers with experts in the field. In this context, the 3rd International Congress on Religious Education was
held in Konya between 13-15 May 2022 by the Necmettin Erbakan Unversity Ahmet Keleshoglu Theology Faculty,
Department of Religious Education in cooperation with the Association for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Higher
Religious Education Programmes (DEKAD), Turkish-Imam Hatips Foundation (TIMAV) and the Ministry of National
Education General Directorate of Religious Education.
